(5/26/2009) Concert of Montenegrin Pianist Kosana Radojevic

Pianist Kosana Radojevic is performing in the Army Hall at 8:00 p.m. today in a recital where the Montenegrin musician plays pieces by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin.
Radivojevic started piano studies in Belgrade only to move to Moscow o study in class of V. Gabrielov. She graduated and took Master’s degree in the Music Academy in Podgorica, Montenegro. The winner of numerous awards in Dubrovnik, Skopje and Belgrade within competitions organised in former Yugoslavia, she has performed as the soloist throughout the world and has been preoccupied with study of piano and interpretation.

Jovica Ivanovski's latest book of poetry, “Whistling in the Wind” will be promoted in the Mala Stanica Art Café at 8:00 p.m. today. The book, the most recent 20th title in Borea Edition of Blesok, will be presented by Elizabeta Seleva and Ane Tuntev with the author and Igor Isakovski reciting verses.

Makedonska Rech in Skopje has published a novel, “The Image in the Mirror” by Svetlana Antic Jovcevska. The book deals with a modern topic dominated by human virtues encouraged by love for one’s profession and man.

(5/26/2009) Promotion of First Book of Poetry by Viktorija Bogdanova

Promotion of a book of poetry, “Glow of Darkness” by Viktorija Bogdanova will be promoted in the Youth Cultural Centre at 8:00 p.m. today. The promoter of the author’s first poetry book is Jovica Tasevski – Eternijan who will present a Veles-native young and talented poetess speaking of love, unreturned above all, as well as insulting and hurting by others. “Glow of Darkness” is a strong metaphorical love story, a poem of life and love at the best age, seventeen.

(5/22/2009) Dance Ensemble of Russian MoI in Skopje

Academic and dance ensemble of the Russian Ministry of Interior, which is one of the largest artistic teams in the country, will hold a concert in Skopje-based “Metropolis Arena” on June 18 as part of the Balkan tour.
The MoI ensemble is the first professional team of the national forces, established in 1973. It has held more than 7,500 concerts in front of more than 23 million visitors.
The basic choir repertoire of the ensemble includes pieces by world and domestic classics, as well as some contemporary authors.

(5/22/2009) Premiere of “Angels and Demons” in Ramstore

As of Friday, the repertoire of cinema “Ramstore” includes thriller “Angels and Demons”, directed by Ron Howard.
The film is an adaptation of the 2000 namesake novel by world-renowned Dan Brown and sequel of “The Da Vinci Code”, also directed by Ron Howard.
“Angels and Demons” made US$48 million in the first weekend of screening at the U.S. box office.
Tom Hanks plays the leading role again, accompanied by Ayelet Zurer and Ewan McGregor.

(5/22/2009) “Traviata” with Bulgarian and Romanian Soloists

In the framework of May Opera Evenings, popular Verdi opera “Traviata” will be performed in the Macedonian Opera and Ballet on Friday evening at 20,00h.
Renowned opera artists from Bulgaria and Romania will perform as guest-soloists. Metodi Matakiev is the conductor, along with singers Cvetelina Vasileva and Niko Isakov, all coming from Bulgaria, as well as Romanian Ifrim Kosmin. The remaining cast is Macedonian – Katerina Stojanovska, Serafina Fantauzo, Dragan Ampov, Risto Velkov, Dejan Stoev, Macedonian Opera choir, as well as the Ballet and soloists Sasa Eftimova and Boban Kovacevski.
Emil Boshnakov from Bulgaria is the director, Zivoin Trajanovic is the stage designer, Marija Pupucevska is the costume designer, whereas Gjorgi Makedonski is the choreographer.

(5/22/2009) Digital Library Opens

Director of national and university library “St. Kliment Ohridski” Mile Boseski announced at Thursday’s press conference that the first digital library of Macedonia will be formally opened on Sunday, in the attendance of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska.
The library’s space amounts to 3,300m2, whereas the Government allocated Euro 2 million for construction and procurement of the digitalization equipment.
Architect Petar Mulickovski, who also projected the existing library building, is the project developer.

(5/21/2009) Debate “Cyrillic on Internet” in Library “Miladinov Brothers”

Debate on topic “Cyrillic on Internet” will be held in city library “Miladinov Brothers” on Thursday at 10,00h.
The debate comes as a result of the Macedonia-Bulgaria cooperation in the field of information-communication technologies – policy and practice.
Minister for Information Society Ivo Ivanovski, library director Filip Petrovski, Bulgarian representatives, bloggers, NGOs are expected to take part.
Moreover, poster exhibition titled “Letters of Bulgaria-Alphabet of Europe”, representing an international poster campaign of artists from the entire world, will be opened at 17,00h. Bozidar Jonov is the promoter, whereas Bulgarian ambassador to Macedonia Miho Mihov and Filip Petrovski will open the display.
